HOME GROUPS
List of Home Groups

Small groups of 8 to 12 people meet in a home usually on the second and fourth Sunday nights of the month from 6:30-8:00pm. Each group is different, yet most have a time for getting to know one another, prayer, and discussion. Childcare is available at the church.

Why You Should Join a Home Group

1. You will begin to really feel like part of God’s family.
Most of the people in a home group will tell you that the greatest benefit is the close relationships that form. A bond develops between members as they receive and give encouragement to one another. Members realize that others genuinely care about them and that they don’t have to face life’s struggles alone. Many comment on how much they have grown spiritually as a result of being part of the group.

2. You will understand the Bible better in a home group.
In a home group you can ask questions, share personal insights, and hear how others have discovered ways to live out the principles in the Bible. You will also be motivated to act on what you have learned because of the support of the group.

3. Prayer will be more meaningful to you.
In a group of eight to twelve, you’ll learn to pray by observing others, and expressing your own heart-felt expressions to God. No one will pressure you to pray.
Prayer will become natural to you and you will see God using your prayers to help others.

4. You will be able to handle stress and pressure better.
When times of change, stress, and crisis arise, you will have a sense of stability knowing that there is a place you can go where people care about you. Many have commented that they could not have made it through a difficult time if it were not for the support of their group.

5. You will develop leadership skills you never knew you had!
Every believer has been given special “gifts” and abilities for the benefit of others in the family of God. Through participating in a home group you will have an opportunity to discover and use your gift. You will discover your confidence and self-esteem rising. This will help you at work, at church, and in every other relationship.

6. You will have a natural way to share Christ with unbelieving friends.
It may be that some of your friends wouldn’t be caught dead in a church. They have a preconceived idea and just the thought of “church” makes them defensive. But those same people would be open to an invitation to attend a home group. In an informal setting they can begin to develop friendships with believers and can see the difference that Christ makes in a person’s life. They can ask questions and even express doubts without feeling “put on the spot”. Through the warmth and honesty of your group they will be more receptive to the Good News.
