The Bible says to go into the whole world, spreading the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Communications & Technology ministry of the Cary Church of God exists to spread the Word via innovative technologies & community engagement.
Our purpose is to reach our congregation and our community through various media in order to inspire, inform, and invite participation in the life, mission, and purposes of our Church. We support the ministries of our church through social media engagement, online service streaming, online giving, network administration, worship audio & projection, public relations and other special projects as needed.
In short, we're responsible for all media and promotion, including print, web, video, digital signage, press relations, writing, editing, filming, photography, etc. We also handle all the technologies for our church (IT, copiers, printers, network).
- Imagination – creative use of promotional tools
- Innovation – presenting ministry in a fresh way
- Integration – using all the media & technology at our disposal together in an effective way
- Involvement – coaching lay leaders how to effectively communicate
- Inspiration – telling the stories of God at work in people’s lives
One very important fact of our ministry is that it’s vitally important for us to not to engage “secular marketing” into our church communications. Bluntly, what motivates a consumer is not what motivates someone toward Christ. The Holy Spirit is at work in our realm, and we can’t discount the work of God drawing people to Himself by thinking that marketing is creating that draw or desire. It absolutely doesn’t—God does.
What effective communication does do is help the church “fire on all cylinders.” It helps the church be more consistent in it’s message and vision. It gives the members confidence that they know what’s going on. It helps to alleviate misunderstanding. It clarifies. And that is our goal in ministry - to clarify the message of our church as we spread the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
If you would like to help our church spread the Good News via communications & technology, please let us know! We are always looking for new personnel and innovative ideas.

We direct and manage our church's social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, Sermon.Net, Vimeo & Instagram) by ensuring that information about ministry events are effectively communicated and updated. If you wish to have a church event or activity included in social networking, please visit the section "Need to Get the Word Out" section below.
For more information about our social media presence, visit The Hub.
We use state of the art equipment to project the Praise and Worship Songs, Announcements, Scriptures and Sunday sermon highlights onto the screens across our church campus. Our video wall, which encompasses the full height & width of our stage, is our primary video screen, which is flanked by two smaller side screens to accommodate angled viewing.
In addition to our in-sanctuary projection, video of our services is sent through the campus to 4 large HDTVs in our welcome areas and video projection in our Fellowship Court. We also have the capability to send video to any of our technology equipped classrooms & office suites.
The Communication & Technology Ministry directs and manages our online church. Each Sunday morning worship service, as well revival & special services, are streamed live at carycog.sermon.net. In addition, if you are unable to watch a live-streamed service, our archives are available 24/7/365. [*Please note, we are in the process of transitioning our archives to our new Vimeo site. As such, some archived services may not be immediately available]
Church Database & Directory
Our communications are only effective when they connect to the right audience. Our database & directory is a vital link that helps connect us to our members and community. Church records, hospital visitations, prayer requests, donations & giving statements and email communication all comprise components of our database & directory ministry.
If you wish to be included in our database, or need to update your information, please contact:

Need to Spread the Word?
If you have an upcoming event, don't forget to get the word out. The Communications & Technology Ministry is here to serve you and publicize your church events. We suggest you start communicating with us the moment you start talking about it in your ministry teams. Once it goes on the church calendar… come talk to us! On large, all-church events, it is ideal that you start working with us 6 months out from your event date if possible. On smaller events, we like to start promoting 6 weeks out from your event date.
When planning your event, it’s good to think about placement. Who is your audience? Is this a Church-wide only event or a Community-wide event? Depending on the event or audience, there are numerous ways we can help get the word out.
